Sunnyhill, formerly the Council for Extended Care was founded by a group of parents who incorporated the agency in 1978 with the purpose of providing residential and recreational services for individuals with development disabilities. Sunnyhill began services by providing recreational opportunities with Sunnyhill Adventures Camp in Dittmer, Missouri. In 1986, Sunnyhill opened an eightperson group home in Dittmer. In 1992, Sunnyhill began the Individual Supported Living program in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County and Jefferson County. Currently, Sunnyhill serves over 200 individuals in our residential programs, and touches the lives of more than 500 adults and children through Sunnyhill Adventures.
